WINDOW by EDWARD BURNE-JONES
Commemorating Francis Currey, and his compassionate work during the famine, the window by pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones (1833-1898) depicts justice and humility. The window commemorates Francis Currey, who as estate manager in Lismore during the famine, did much to relieve the suffering of many locally. The colours of this window set the tone for the colour throughout the cathedral. The experience of seeing the window aglow on a bright afternoon, with the font beneath turned green, is truly memorable.
